Lovely Lollies, Garden Update & Free-From Goodies!

Lovely Lollies, Garden Update & Free-From Goodies!

Wow! First of all a BIG thank you to my wonderful hubby for battling through London just because I wanted to go to the @Allergyshow & Free-From show! 🙂 Yes, London has the tube (metro/underground) but unfortunately it’s not very mobility scooter friendly! PLUS the parking for the whole day was less than a third of the price of train tickets! Besides, there is NO way we could’ve brought back all these goodies on the train!!!

Amazing! There were so many stalls that we didn’t make it to all of them! I had made a list before I went of the companies I wanted to see (yes almost all were food)! which helped a bit 🙂 but when there were freebies of foods it was near impossible to get to a stand if you were standing let alone if like me you were sitting down! Anyway, the stalls we did visit more than made up for it and I could not be disappointed in any way! My favourite new savoury snack is Oh My Gosh so yummy! Lol… it’s actually called ‘Gosh’! 😛 Don’t tell anyone that I’ve eaten two whole boxes to myself since Sunday! 😛 and my favourite new sweet snack is millionaires shortbread – vegan, gluten and refined sugar free!

I will SO make a recipe soon and share it as I’m certain that’s something I need to eat often!!! 😀 Its crumbly, it’s caramelly AND it’s chocolatey… and I found it made by numerous different companies! 😀 Ooo… and we got a new high speed commercial blender! SO excited about that! We’ve already made some nut butter, smoothies and ice-cream! 🙂

Anyway, in the UK we’ve had SO much rain! Unfortunately this has killed off most of our strawberries, but have a look at what else is growing! Blueberries, gooseberries, redcurrants, courgettes, peas, mangetout, even the tomatoes have started! 🙂 I have to thank Sophie over @SophiesFoodieFiles as all of her photos of her allotment last year encouraged me to start growing again… Thank You! 😀

Lovely lollies! Well, we couldn’t not have a recipe! 😛 It is allegedly summer so what better way to cool off than to have a delicious home made selection of lollies! Simple… blend up your fruits, add a bit of your favourite milk (or not!), pour into moulds and freeze! Yumyum!

Luscious Lollies (vegan & Free-From)

  • Servings: 4-6
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

Gather

  • Favourite fruits – berries, bananas, mango etc. 2 cups
  • Milk of choice (I use unsweetened coconut 1/2-1 cup
  • *Liquid sweetener (optional) to taste

Prepare

  1. Wash your fruit and pop in the blender. Reserve some for added texture if you like.
  2. Add some milk (& sweetener if using). Blitz until smooth. Taste test and adjust if necessary.
  3. Pour into moulds (add whole fruit junks for texture if desired). Freeze!
  4. Enjoy delicious homemade, healthy, natural ice lollies! 🙂

Serve

  • Make sure you get some before everyone else does!
  • Allow to thaw slightly before trying to remove from mould.
  • Keep frozen for up to three months! 🙂
