Find your rewards at the end of the rainbow!

Have you ever chased a rainbow, hunting for the end, thinking it is just there, just in reach? ?

Then you get to where you thought the end was and look up, it is somewhere else. ?

So you go over there and still the end is not within reach. ?

No matter how hard you try, that rainbow just keeps moving! ?

Then just as quickly as it appeared, it disappears!

?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?  ?

As you probably know, a rainbow is actually an optical illusion caused by water droplets, the light ? and specific angles. Therefore, no matter how hard we try, we cannot reach the end of the rainbow, or touch the rainbow (although apparently you can touch someone else’s rainbow)! Even though we know this, that doesn’t stop us from chasing rainbows, marvelling at them, and taking photos of them.

BUT… the rainbow? brightened your day, it stopped you thinking about everything else for a while, even if only for a second. If you were with someone else, you probably said ‘look, a rainbow!’ …if they didn’t see it first.

So, even if there is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, just the fact that you knew it was there, that you saw it (how many people did you tell?), made you happy!

Hi Laurena, what wise words indeed. I was trying not to feel too bogged down waiting for a delayed train on a cold, overcrowded platform today lol, it reminded me of my commuting days from Kent to London and vice versa (all silly ‘problems’ of course) ☺

Oh no Eva, delayed, cold and overcrowded ?, sounds like you needed to see a rainbow!?? I hope you spent the time dreaming about something nice… like your meal out last week! What did you have in the end?

I had ‘Gigantes’ which basically means giant beans lol in a tomato sauce, these were baked with a little feta (don’t come a me, hehe) and lots of roasted veg, salad and some lovely pitta bread. I hope you had a nice time too?
I’m at home freezing at the moment: hubby used the microwave this morning and it blew up, causing a fair bit of smoke so I have all the windows open. It’s annoying but I’m glad he’s ok. We bought it back with us from the loft, it had been there for years so can’t say I’m surprised?

Ooo yes, I love Gigantes (we make them quite a bit)! but not with feta!!! 😛 Sounds like a lovely meal 🙂 OMGosh! What was he cooking? Did it burn? Were you there? Have you got the windows open to try to get rid of the smell? Do you have bicarbonate of soda? Put some in a bowl and it should soak up some of the smell! 🙂

He was heating up his lunch to then put into a thermos- this sounds odd but he has to do this as there’s no microwave where he works. I warned him a while back the microwave smelled of burning! Thank you for the tip, I had completely forgotten about that☺Yes, all the windows are open, I can still smell it in my nostrils though?I’ll have to go outside soon to warm up and it’s not even a warm day lol. Hope you’re having a good week x

Sandwiches tomorrow then! I keep thinking I should go to the allotment as it’s about 10 degrees, but it feels so cold once you’re outside… catching up on admin and still decluttering!!! Hope you a) manage to get rid of the smell before the weekend! 😛 and b) warm up soon (go for a brisk walk)! 😀

Thanks Laurena, hope you catch up with all your admin soon. I’m just wondering whether being out in the allotment when it’s very cold is no worse to when it’s ridiculously hot haha

I have a lot of shade on my plot and I’m on a corner so it’s a bit windy too! It can get very cold there (and I can’t muster anyone to come with me)! I’ve ordered a load more strawberry plants as ours were accidentally dug up so I need to make a space for when they arrive! So many things to do… waiting for a builder to get back to me too! 😛
