H = Happy Healthy Home

H = Happy Healthy Home

This is day 8 of the A-Z Challenge and therefore the letter

I did have a couple of ‘H’ recipes but I realised that for several posts now I haven’t talked much about ‘Life’ or ‘Health’ and this would give me the opportunity!

Often unless something bad happens, we don’t stop and think about what is going on in our lives! The days turn into weeks, which then become months and the years roll by without us really noticing.

Today I would like you to take a couple of minutes out from your busy day, your busy life and really think about things!

First, are you ‘Happy?’ Truly happy? Do you have hobbies you enjoy? Do you have friends who you can rely on? Do you have a supportive family? Do you live where you want to? Do you do the job you want to? Do you have time for yourself? Do you? This is about YOU! Now reread this paragraph and really think about the answers!

Just in case you didn’t make time to reread it, here they are again! Are you ‘Happy?’ Truly happy? Do you have hobbies you enjoy? Do you have friends who you can rely on? Do you have a supportive family? Do you live where you want to? Do you do the job you want to? Do you have time for yourself?

Healthiness doesn’t always go hand in hand with happiness! Many people have health problems which can cause all sorts of issues – all of the questions above can be restricted (sometimes severely) by health complications. Illnesses can cause symptoms such as depression and until you really stop and think about life many things are overlooked.

Home. Is your house a house? or, is your house a home? There is a difference. Stop and think about it.

Thinking is great! All these thoughts! What we do with them is what makes a difference! I’m a ‘list’ person! I love lists! When something is written down it seems more real. For example, if I write on my list that I have friends who I can rely on (yes, you know who you are)! then when I am feeling sad I have a positive reminder and that instantly cheers me up! 🙂

Happy Healthy Home is something which we can easily enhance, rectify or change with a few minor adjustments. Money has no value here. Life has value here. Stop and think. Make a small change. Happy Healthy Home!

    Lovely post! In this fast-paced world full of responsibilities and things to do, we often forget about ourselves. To paraphrase Buddhist teacher Ajahn Brahm, instead of human beings we have turned into ‘human doings’. Always rushing somewhere, doing something. We need moments to reflect, just sit down with ourselves in peace, to do nothing. We can learn a lot about life in those moments and how to be happy and healthy 🙂

      ‘Human doings’ !? That’s interesting Milica ☺ We do certainly seem to have become something other than outdoorsy, charitable, time-for-a-chat humans!
      It’s lovely and sunny here today so it’s finally time to sort the garden!☺ Happy days! ☺

        It feels like the weather is finally sorting out here, too. Every day should be a sunny day! Ah garden… I really want one! 🙂

            Yeah, living in a 20-story building can leave you without a garden! 🙂 One day, when we retire! 😀

            Oh gosh… hope there’s a lift and you don’t live on the top floor! 😛 Do you have a nice view though? ps… we’ve had friends round and been in the garden all afternoon! 😛 🙂

            Hahaha, there is a lift, but Mladen and I don’t use it! Some extra exercise is always nice. We are around the middle part, on the 9th floor, so we have a pretty nice view. When I was a kid I used to spend a lot of time on terrace, just looking around 😀 I’m glad you’re having a wonderful time 🙂
            BTW, we got your email, but didn’t get around to answer it. Tomorrow, promise! 🙂

            Ninth floor… oh I couldn’t manage that without a lift! My health is gradually improving with my new diet though so maybe in a few more months I’d be able to get halfway! 😛 🙂 Don’t rush with the email… the longer you take the more time I have! 😛

            Just take it easy. With healthy food and positive attitude, you’re going to get better and better! <3
