Start as you mean to go on…

How is your new year going so far? Have you made resolutions and broken them already? This must be the first year that I haven’t set any… yet! 😛

Okay, so I always have a plan, or a list, of things I want to achieve in the year. Usually, this is a rehash of the year before! However, this year, I started my list in November! It’s different to before! 😀

The most common resolutions are related to health and fitness; losing weight; eating less chocolate, cakes or crisps; eating more fruit & vegetables; getting fitter; going to the gym; taking up a new sport etc. Sound familiar?

Well, how about this year, whether you’ve made any resolutions already or not, to make or add something completely out of your ordinary?!

Whatever you add, whether you tell everyone to make yourself more accountable, or whether you keep it a secret until you’ve completed it, make sure it is something which will enhance your life or your memories! 😀

A few suggestions for you if you are really struggling to think of anything!

?Start a new hobby – a sport, a craft, an art.

?Enrol on a short course – learn a new language, a trade, or local history.

?Join a group – Try your local wildlife group, RSPB, walking group or Litterpicking group.

?Do some volunteering – try your local charity shop, animal rescue centre or foodbank.

?Start growing your own food – in your garden, on a windowsill, a balcony or even get an allotment!

?Change your career or get a different job! Does getting up for work make you truly happy? Do you love what you do? If not,why not? Do something about it!

?Declutter! Make this year the year you declutter. Sort your clothes, books, dvds, knick-knacks, spare room and sell them on gumtree, ebay, facebook or donate to your local charity shop or give them to friends and family.

?Plan that dream holiday! Go on! You know you want to! Make this year THE year! 😀

Hi Laurena, wishing you and your family all the best in the 20s? I once read somewhere you shouldn’t really make any new resolutions until the Spring (time of renewal/new beginnings) if that’s your thing…I think I’ll go with that?Maybe I’m just putting off laying off the chocolate for a little while hehe.

Hello Eva… Hope you both have a fantastic new decade! At least you haven’t eaten all the chocolate at once!? How about we both add something to our ‘to do’ list? I’m thinking meet up this year!??
