valentines day card

YOU are special, you know that!

So today, February 14th is a day which brings mixed emotions for lots of people. This week on the radio they have been talking about it (it being Valentines Day)! being a day for single people! I’m not sure I agree with that, do you? I’d say it’s more a day for couples, but that’s my own opinion. Having said that…

Memories…

When I was growing up, I recall being all excited about this day – waiting to see what post I would get, if I would receive chocolates or flowers. You know, thinking about it, there is still one card that I never knew where it came from (please enlighten me if you know)! It had a badge on the front and smelt of aftershave. In fact, as it puzzled me so much, my best friend bought me an identical card the following year – just as a joke! 😛 Maybe the original was from her too, she never said! That’s what friends do, they make the day easier if you are going to feel left out.

Just 24 hours!

It is only one day you know. One day that you think will make a difference! What about all the other days of the year though? You want to feel loved and special on those days too?! There are 364 other days of the year… in fact, this year there are 365 other days (2020 is a leap year). So, this one day accounts for about 0.27% of your year! That’s a very very small percentage of a year to get upset about! That said, many of us do!

Stop and take in the beauty of this red rose!

You are Special

You know, if I asked you to write down 3 things about yourself that make you different from me, I’m certain you could easily do that! 🙂 Go on, try it! Use the comments below! To get you thinking I’ll share mine! I bake amazing bread (every week!), I am always available to my friends and family when there’s a disaster or calamity that needs advice on, and I love finding new ways to do my bit to help save the planet! Each one of those things makes me special! 🙂 Maybe you’re not so different to me and share one, if not all of the same traits?! Maybe you consider these to be normal things like I did and hadn’t realised these are the things which make us all individual and therefore special!

A definition

Here are a few dictionary definitions of the word special – used for all days, not just one day in the year! 😛

Special – adjective: Of a distinct or particular character; An Individual; Pertaining to a particular person; Distinctive; Unique; Different to what is usual.

Special – noun: A special person.

Celebrate

A day is only as special as you make it! If you have received some love and attention this Valentines Day cherish it (even if it is 100% dark chocolate that nobody in their right might could possibly eat)! 😛

If you are feeling lonely, left out or unloved, treat yourself! Do something just for you! Bake yourself a cake; have a relaxing bubble bath; go for a walk and marvel at all the little things you usually miss; binge watch your favourite box-set; phone a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while just to say hello!

Remember

You are special! Every day! Every week! Every month! Every year!

Sending love and best wishes your way today and always!

Have a fantabulous weekend.

Laurena x

I was wondering if the lovely falling hearts would be back? You requested three things that make me different to you: firstly, you put me to shame for making your own bread each week?I do make my own cacik/tzantziki each week and oat biscuits most weeks, though (but not eaten together!). I happen to speak a few other languages (not blowing my trumpet lol) and am an introvert☺Have a nice, romantic weekend x

Thanks for the extra hearts? Regarding the chocolate, I can eat that type of antioxidant-rich dark chocolate (I went through a Lindt 90% cocoa phase a while back lol) but I’ve been eating the slightly less refined (and not so good for you Rittersport Alpenmilch? I wouldn’t say I was super-duper fluent in German (still can’t fully get the hang of split infinitives) but people seem to understand me lol which is the main thing. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and I hope Storm Dennis won’t affect you as much as Ciara did!
